Rosarot und Himmelblau II, dal 27 ottobre al 2 novembre

Pagine di letteratura, psicologia e filosofia sono state scritte su una delle arti che sin dall'antichità hanno rapito l'uomo. Collezionare è un impluso irrefrenabile, un modo per esplorare il mondo nelle sue manifestazioni più varie e curiose e tenerne memoria.  
Per omaggiare questa pratica nella sua totalità, Tabula Rasa organizza due esposizioni di collezioni provenienti dalla provincia di Bolzano. Rosarot und Himmelblau, questo il nome del progetto a cura di Lisa Trockner. 
Dopo l'interesse suscitato a settembre dalla prima mostra con le 250 caffettiere della meranese Ines Zöschg, lo sguardo di Tabula Rasa si posa sulla tematica chiave sviluppata da The Rest of Now, continuandone il discorso sul tempo, sulla morte, e su cio´che rimane.
Dal 27 ottobre al 2 novembre negli orari di apertura di Manifesta 7 Luis Müller presenta la sua collezione di carte commemorative raccolte in anni di eserizio appassionato. Le oltre 200 carte stese sul lungo tavolo di Tabula Rasa sono una metafora perfetta del collezionismo. Le collezioni sospondono gli stati di vita degli oggetti. Collezionare significa mummificare un oggetto, renderlo inerme per contemplarlo. Gli oggetti collezionati hanno natura transitiva cioè sono capaci di attivare percorsi di vita nella mente di chi li ammirra. Per queste stesse ragioni la collezione delle carte lasciate a ricordo di uno scomparso parlano del collezionismo stesso e della sua capacità di bloccare e ricostruire il mondo attraverso la forza del ricordo.

Handheld Objects  

Handheld Objects, Oggetti maneggiabili è il prossimo evento di Tabula Rasa. Sul lungo tavolo dell'Alumix da martedì 21 a domenica 26 saranno esposti i lavori di Davide De Paoli. L'artista bolzanino noto per le sculture antropomorfe che si trasformano in raffinati pezzi di design approfitta dello spazio di sperimentazione di Manifesta 7 per rivisitare il rapporto con lo spettatore. Sulla scorta di esperienze simili degli anni '70 di scultura sensoriale di cui sono maestri seppur secondo differenti approcci Franz West e Lygia Clark, gli oggetti da inviolabili creazioni per il piacere degli occhi diventano elementi di relazione fisica, strumenti di mediazione fra l'immaginario dell'artista e le percezioni del visitatore. Il corpo diventa dunque il luogo di interpretazione della scultura. Gli oggetti presentanti sono lontani dall'essere uno strumento con una funzione predeterminata e si prestano a differenti usi a seconda della capacità immaginativa di chi li maneggia. Una forma astratta diventa una maschera, una ciotola o un portrafrutta. A partire da questi presupposti il lavoro si impone come un oggetto critico e trasversale alle discipline. Lontano dalla funzione progettuale del design a fronte di una esigenza esplicita o implicita e lontano altresì dalla ammirazione puramente visiva degli oggetti d'arte applicata o meno. La natura delle sculture di Davide De Paoli è transitiva, si completa solo con il lavoro di interpretazione e relazione dello spettatore che è responsabile tanto quanto l'artista della buona riuscita del lavoro.

TV Effects on Super 8 – da lunedì 13 a domenica 19 ottobre

Tabula Rasa ospita un’esperienza ipnotizzante: da lunedì 13 a domenica 19 ottobre sarà  TV Effects on Super 8, una mostra dell’artista e regista milanese Sara Rossi, ad occupare il lungo tavolo dell’ex-Alumix. Una mostra che celebra l’idea di residuo e di ritrovamento casuale attraverso una video-installazione che raccoglie una collezione di sigle in Super-8 per cineamatori trovate, trasferite in video e campionate. Il titolo, Tv Effects, si ispira direttamente al nome industriale delle confezioni di dieci strisce da quaranta fotogrammi, punto di partenza del lavoro di Sara Rossi. Le strisce in Super 8, di circa due secondi ciascuna (trasferite sia a 18 che a 24 fotogrammi al sec.), originariamente numerate sono rimontate stravolgendo l’ordine originario, moltiplicate e riproposte in loop in modo ritmico e ad effetto ipnotico. L’artista gioca sulla particolare prospettiva offerta da Tabula Rasa, attraverso cerchi e figure geometriche che implodono ed esplodono: tre serie (caleidoscope, optical e multicolor) che rappresentano tre occhi pulsanti di Tabula Rasa.

Sabato 11 ottobre Tabula Rasa ospita Art Magazines: What Now?, un incontro dedicato all'editoria d'arte, realizzato in collaborazione con il network online di cultura contemporanea UnDo.Net.
Dai tempi di Andy Warhol le riviste di cultura contemporanea hanno sempre più circolato attraverso paesaggi multidisciplinari diventando esse stesse territori di sperimentazione per comunicazione e creatività, soprattutto quando hanno trasversalmente incrociato con internet ed altre tecnologie più o meno interattive.
Circa l'editoria d'arte in generale si sente sempre più spesso parlare di integrazione tra filiere culturali, di complementarità con altri macro-settori, di intersezione nell'intero quadro delle professioni creative. A questa tavola rotonda parteciperanno personaggi ubiqui, che si trovano cioè a lavorare nell'editoria e a riviste d'arte contemporanea con ruoli poliedrici. Forse questi professionisti dall'intersezione sono i più adatti a raccontare cosa succede in questo sistema multitasking per indagare cosa resta di una mostra ma anche cosa può esserci oltre.

BOLZANO – Tabula Rasa lo spazio di Manifesta 7 che ogni settimana propone un nuovo evento omaggia da lunedì 6 a venerdì 10 ottobre Radio Tandem FM98.4.  Della nota radio bolzanina, già fucina di molti fra giornalisti e operatori della cultura della provincia, sarà trasmessa a ciclo continuo una selezione di spot che la stessa Radio ha nel corso degli anni dedicato alla promozione di se stessa e delle proprie manifestazioni. 
Il pubblico potrà godere dell'ironia degli spot pubblicitari, legarli alle edizioni passate Volxfesta o delle molte manifestazioni organizzate dalla radio indipendente di Bolzano per il supporto della radio stessa o per puro spirito di divertimento.

In linea con la filosofia della libera circolazione di informazioni e media portata avanti daThe Rest of Now, la mostra dell’ex-Alumix,Tabula Rasa, oltre a riportare all'ascolto per una settimana gli spot, invita il pubblico a crearsi la propria compilation. Il visitatore potrà selezionare gli spot preferiti e masterizzare un cd negli stessi spazi di Tabula Rasa.

Radio Tandem nasce nel 1977 ad Oltrisarco, un sobborgo di Bolzano, come radio di quartiere. Nel giro di pochi anni apre frequenza anche a Merano e Bressanone. Nell'82 prende l'attuale denominazione e forma un asse informativo con il settimanale omonimo, fondato da Alexander Langer. In quel periodo, la radio riflette la vivacità e la creatività della parte più innovativa, avanzata e interetnica della società altoatesina. Nel 1985 l'emittente entra in crisi. La programmazione si riduce alla sola ripetizione del segnale con bobine musicali. Ma i soci fondatori non cedono e garantiscono almeno l'occupazione della frequenza di Bolzano (mentre invece si perdono Merano e Bressanone). Tra il 1987 e il 1988 un gruppo di persone giovani, estranee al vecchio giro della radio, decidono di prendere in mano l'emittente. E' l'inizio di una nuova, lunga e faticosa fase di ristrutturazione che è arrivata sino ad oggi. Una gestione di piccoli passi e potenziamenti graduali che ha garantito finalmente il tanto desiderato collegamento con Radio Popolare Network.
La redazione di Radio Tandem, è stata una "palestra" formativa per decine di persone che oggi lavorano nel mondo dell'informazione locale (giornali, televisioni, radio commerciali, uffici stampa) e per centinaia di giovani che volevano esprimersi attraverso la musica, mettendo su dischi e imparando il mestiere di DJ .
Per Tabula Rasa Radio Tandem presenta una selezione dei famosi spot che da anni promuovono l'ascolto della radio, il sostegno della stessa e le manifestazioni che la radio stessa organizza. Alcuni fra questi spot sono noti a molti per l'ironia e il sarcasmo con cui sono stati di volta in volta pensati da chi si è preso cura negli anni della Radio. 

Il pubblico di Tabula Rasa è inviato all'ascolto degli spot e se lo desidera a creare una propria compilation degli spot di Radio Tandem con il computer messo a disposizione.

Radio Tandem started its activities in 1977 in Oltrisarco, a Bolzano/Bozen’s district, as a local radio station. Within a few years, it opened a frequency also in Merano and Bressanone. In 1982, Radio Tandem adopted its current name and formed an informative axis with the homonymous weekly magazine, founded by Alexander Langer. In that era, the radio reflected the vivacity and creativity of the most innovative, advanced and inter-ethnic fringes of the South-Tyrolian society. In 1985, the radio station entered a period of crisis. Although the daily broadcast was reduced to the mere repetition of the signal from musical spools, the founding members managed to guarantee at least the survival of the Bolzano/Bozen frequency, losing Merano and Bressanone. Between 1987 and 1988, a group of young people, not belonging to the old radio management, decided to run the station. This represented the start of a new, long and difficult phase of restoration carried on until recent times, and that, through small but continuous improvements, eventually guaranteed the so desired connection to Radio Popolare Network.
Radio Tandem’s editorial always represented a gymnasium for dozen of professionals that currently work in the local press (newspapers, tvs, commercial radioes, press offices) and also an opportunity for hundreds of youngsters seeking means of expression through music, to play records and learn DJ skills.

For Tabula Rasa, Radio Tandem presents a selection from the famous spots that since the Eighties have been promoting radio listening, the station itself and all the manifestations organised by it. Some of these adverts are well known to the masses for their irony and sarcasm, reflecting, in the years, the philosophy of the radio’s different directive teams. Tabula Rasa’s visitors are invited to listen to the radio adverts, and if they want, they are given the opportunity to create their personal Radio Tandem adverts compilation, using the computer in the room.

Radio Tandem entsteht 1977 in Oberrau, als Radiosender dieses Bozner Stadtteils. Im Laufe weniger Jahre werden die Sendefrequenzen bis Meran und Brixen erweitert. Im Jahr '82 wurde der heutige Name übernommen und mit der gleichnamigen Wochenzeitschrift, gegründet von Alexander Langer, entwickelte sich die Radiostation zu einemwichtigen Informationskanal.
Damals galt der Sender in all seiner Lebhaftigkeit und Kreativität als fortgeschrittenster Teil der südtiroler Gesellschaft.1985 wird jedoch aufgrund verschiendener Schwierigkeiten entschlossen, das Programm zu reduzieren. Doch die Gründunsmitglieder gaben nicht auf  
und sorgten für die Beibehaltung der Bozner Frequenz (Meran und Brixen konnte leider nicht erhalten bleiben). Zwischen 1987 und 1988 wurde der Sender von einer Grupper junger Interessenten erobert, die das Radio zwar noch nicht kannten, aber dieses trotzdem übernehmen wollten. Hiermit beginnt der Neuanfang und ein langer und mühsamer Wiederaufbau, der bis heute innehält. Die Leitung der Radiostation erfolgt in kleinen Schritten und kontinuierlichen Verbesserungen, welche letztendlich die so sehr erstrebte Verbindung mit "Radio Popolare Network" ermöglichte.

Die Redaktion von Radio Tandem war nicht nur eine Übungsstation für viele Mitabeiter während der Ausbildung - die meisten von ihnen arbeiten heute im Bereich der lokalen Information (Zeitung, Fernsehn, Radiosender, Pressebüros) - sondern auch für hunderte von Jugendlichen, die sich durch die Musik ausdrücken, Musik auflegen und die Arbeit des DJ erlernen wollen.

Für dieses Tabula Rasa-Projekt hat Radio Tandem eine Auswahl der berühmtesten Werbespots erstellt, die seit Jahren den Sender und dessen Veranstaltungen bewerben. Diese Spots sind im Laufe der Zeit von all jenen erarbeitet worden, die um die Weiterführung des Senders besorgt waren, und dank einer besonderen Ironie und  Sarkasmus sind diese Werbesendungen heute sehr bekannt.Das Publikum der Tabula Rasa ist herzlich eingeladen, all diese Spots anzuhören und eine eigene Sammlung zu erstellen. BOLZANO – Continua la serie di weekend targati Tabula Rasa, con due giornate dedicate alla musica a cura di Andrea Polato che per oltre 24 ore coinvolgeranno parte della scena musicale bolzanina. 

Venerdì dopo un lungo pomeriggio di prove aperte dalle 14 alla 18, si esibirà Davide Ferrazzi in un concerto di rock acustico. Cantante/chitarrista del gruppo Eugenie, Davide Ferrazzi ha collaborato a ZOE tra il 1996 e il 1999. La prima parte della serata prosegue con Alessandro Damian chitarrista, cantante, batterista, bassista in varie formazioni locali (tra le quali PEA e JuliusBana). Alle 22.30 a concludere la serata interverrà il gruppo JuliusBana che proporrà un repertorio riadattato per l'occasione sugli spazi di Tabula Rasa. Chiude il doppio evento E.tek con la sua X/perimental carbonara.

Roaming, progetto di mostre che durano il tempo dell’inaugurazione per poi spostarsi nella realtà indistinta del web, dopo le tappe di Assab One a Milano ed il museo di St Denis a Parigi, ripensa nuovamente se stesso per un appuntamento straordinario a Manifesta 7 per il progetto Tabula Rasa, curato da Denis Isaia all’interno della mostra The Rest of Now negli spazi dell’ex-Alumix di Bolzano. Per l’occasione tre personali si susseguiranno nell’arco della giornata di Martedì 30 Settembre. Emanuele Becheri, Vincenzo Cabiati con la collaborazione di Armin Linke e Microcollection, gli artisti invitati; a fotografare l’intera operazione sarà Casaluce/Geiger - synusi@.

Proprio per questa occasione, Roaming si presenterà in una formula ancora rinnovata, proponendo tre differenti progetti che si alterneranno nell’arco della giornata-evento e che si concentreranno attorno ad alcuni degli aspetti specifici che caratterizzano e accomunano il percorso critico di Roaming e quello di Tabula Rasa, che farà da cornice alle tre mostre temporanee Release, Ciglia e Anish Kapoor, 24 maggio 1990.

Release (2006) di Emanuele Becheri, istallazione sonora dove ascoltare l’immateriale segno del lento rilascio (cioè il dispiegamento naturale della carta dopo essere stata compressa) delle pieghe di un foglio accartocciato.

Ciglia (2008) di Vincenzo Cabiati in collaborazione con Armin Linke. Intervento costituito dalle opere (sia tele che sculture) di Cabiati e alcune foto di questi oggetti scattate da Linke. Oggetti e foto allestiti in modo da essere tautologicamente rifotografati per Roaming.

Anish Kapoor, 24 maggio 1990 (2008) di Microcollection, mostra tratta dalle collezioni del museo Microcollection, costituito da frammenti di opere d’arte montati su comuni vetrini da laboratorio e visibili solo al microscopio.

Intervento che accompagnerà le installazioni dei tre artisti invitati è Butterfly effect, opera di Ermanno Cristini, ideatore del progetto Roaming.

BOLZANO – Inizia la serie di week-end all’insegna di teatro, musica e poesia targato Tabula Rasa. Residual Hopes: Table-Top Theatre Weekend offre due performance serali in lingua italiana a cura del gruppo di produttori culturali trentino Il Funambolo. Due piece che puntano l’attenzione al testo.
Sabato sera Tabula Rasa farà da palcoscenico a falling to pieces / cadendo a pezzi. Nell’estate del ’59 William Burroughs e Brion Gysin cominciano ad applicare alla propria scrittura il cut-up method sulla scia di sperimentazioni artistiche come il ready made duchampiano e il collage dadaista, la musica di John Cage e la scrittura automatica di Tristan Tzara; si tratta di scomporre in frammenti un testo e di ricombinarne l’ordine casualmente, oppure di mescolare i frammenti di più testi fino a renderli un’unica opera. falling to pieces/cadendo a pezzi è un’improvvisazione che sperimenta con il cut-up method su un testo letterario – il confronto fra O’Brien e Winston Smith in 1984 di George Orwell – e sullo standard jazz A Night in Tunisia di Dizzy Gillespie. Il testo e lo spartito vengono tagliati dal vivo e rimontati casualmente in un dialogo/scontro fra voci e linguaggi differenti che danno vita a una composizione del tutto originale. Con la partecipazione di Andrea Caltran (voce), Stefano Carloni (sax), Tiziana Poli (camera 1), Guido Laino (camera 2) e Marco Furgeri (luci). Domenica sera in “Avrei preferenza di no”, disse. invece le speranze residue si condensano nel rifiuto irriducibile di Bartleby. “Bartleby ricava dalle macerie un tratto d’espressione, I WOULD PREFER NOT TO, che prolifererà su se stesso, contaminerà gli altri, metterà in fuga l’avvocato, ma metterà in fuga anche il linguaggio, farà crescere una zona di indeterminazione o di indiscernibilità tale che le parole non si distinguono più, e meno ancora i personaggi, con l’avvocato in fuga e Bartleby immobile, pietrificato. L’avvocato incomincia a vagabondare mentre Bartleby resta tranquillo; ma è perché resta tranquillo e non si muove, che Bartleby sarà trattato come un vagabondo.” (Gilles Deleuze, Bartleby o la formula). A collaborative platform for discussing concepts about war, to be invented, arranged and presented by scientists, artists, theorists and activists at a public, two-day event. The aim is to pinpoint key concepts that play a significant role in current discussions about war, as well as those that have been neglected, or have yet to be created. Over the past two years, 125 key concepts have been produced in previous editions of the Dictionary of War, developed in Frankfurt, Munich, Graz, Berlin and Novi Sad. The sixth edition, to be developed at Manifesta 7, will be a remix of concepts from former editions, as well as an exhibition of a number of newly created concepts and their live presentations. &lt;div&gt;Si può guardare alla guerra in maniera differente? Quali sono le sue ragioni più intime? Perchè gli uomini sono sempre giunti all'uso della forza? È possibile ragionare sulla guerra in maniera non aprioristica?

Tabula Rasa presenta nella cornice di The Rest of Now un evento di portata internazionale, DICTIONARY OF WAR propone una serie di conferenze nei giorni di sabato 20 e domenica 21 settembre, seguite dalle multiproiezioni delle conferenze stesse e una sintesi delle edizioni passate tra lunedì 22 e giovedì 25.
Organizzato per la prima volta nel 2006 da Florian Schneider e Susanne Lang, e dall’associazione no-profit Multitude e.V., in collaborazione con Unfriendly Takeover, DICTIONARY OF WAR è una piattaforma di collaborazione per la creazione di concetti intorno alla tematica della “guerra”. Concetti che sono inventati, messi insieme e presentati ad un evento pubblico della durata di due giorni. Lo scopo è evidenziare parole chiave che rivestono un ruolo significativo nel discorso contemporaneo sulla guerra, oltre a quelle che finora non sono ancora stati considerati o creati. Una riflessione a tutto tondo in cui la guerra viene non solo osteggiata aprioristicamente, ma viene analizzata nelle sue ragioni più profonde al fine di trovare i punti che rispettano i conflitti ma evitano la violenza e l'uso della forza.
DICTIONARY OF WAR è contemporaneamente uno spazio performativo e un luogo di produzione: per ogni edizione vengono presentati in ordine alfabetico 25 concetti, per trenta minuti ciascuno e senza pause; registrati da svariate telecamere, sono mixati live, codificati in tempo reale e pubblicati su internet. Non esistono restrizioni per quanto riguarda il formato, e ogni esperto invitato a creare un concetto è libero di deciderne il e titolo, genere e medium.

Fino ad oggi si sono svolte sei edizioni (Francoforte, Monaco, Graz, Berlino, Novi Sad e Gwangiu), che hanno ospitato 139 concetti presentati da una vasta gamma di personalità internazionali: architetti, artisti, attivisti, ballerini, compositori, coreografi, filosofi, generali, giornalisti, registi, scienziati e teorici.Per la sua settima edizione, DICTIONARY OF WAR arriverà a Bolzano, ospitata da Tabula Rasa, proponendo una serie di concetti che riflettono i principi generali e concettuali del progetto. Saranno ideati sette nuovi concetti dagli sviluppatori di DICTIONARY OF WAR. Sarà inoltre presentata una selezione di concetti sviluppati nelle precedenti edizioni, specialmente provenienti dalla sesta edizione, svoltasi per due settimane all’apertura della biennale coreana di Gwangju.
L’edizione di Bolzano sarà realizzata da Annett Busch, Jan Gerber, Sören Köhler, Susanne Lang, Sebastian Luetgert, Florian Schneider e Armin Smailovic, in collaborazione con Tabula Rasa, sotto l’egida di Manifesta 7. &lt;div&gt;Pagine di letteratura, psicologia e filosofia sono state scritte su una delle arti che sin dall'antichità hanno rapito l'uomo. Collezionare è un impluso irrefrenabile, un modo per esplorare il mondo nelle sue manifestazioni più varie e curiose e tenerne memoria.
Per omaggiare questa pratica nella sua totalità, Tabula Rasa organizza due esposizioni di collezioni provenienti dalla provincia di Bolzano. Rosarot und Himmelblau, questo il nome del progetto a cura di Lisa Trockner.
La prima mostra aprirà i battenti sabato 14 e sarà aperta al pubblico sino a venerdì 19. Il tavolo sarà imbandito con 250 caffettiere di proprietà della Sig.ra Ines Zöschg di Merano. Ho incominciato a collezionare caffettiere negli anni '90 per caso, dice la Sig.ra Zöschg, in casa avevo solo una vecchia macchina che non funzionava, così ne ho comperata un'altra usata, anche quella non funzionava. È l'inizio della collezione che ora conta 250 pezzi da ogni parte del mondo. Me le portano le amiche, alcune fra loro sono collezioniste: per esempio un'amica di Ferrare ha oltre 2000 cucchiaini, quando io ne trovo uno che le manca glielo porto e lei fa lo stesso con me... &lt;div&gt;La sperimentazione musicale continua con Building Transmissions: Sound Performance dalle ore 21, di, Nico Dockx, Kris Delacourt e Krist Torfs, che occuperanno Tabula Rasa con una performance sonora. Building Transmissions è un collettivo emergente fondato nel 2001da Nico Dockx con Kris Delacourt e Peter Verwimp che produce documenti audio-visivi sperimentali, architetture sonore, performance di improvvisazione dal vivo e installazioni multi-media. Nella loro pratica artistica, riflettono sulle possibilità della produzione artistica e della circolazione di idee in relazione con testo, immagine e suono. Building Transmissions ricorre a un’ampia gamma di strumenti acustici, associati a registrazioni all’aperto e elettronica. Il corpo fisico e i suoi movimenti si materializzano attraverso l’interazione di dati fermi e in movimento, che creano intersezioni tra tempo, memoria e movimento, universi in cui il pubblico e il privato si uniscono, e le proprie esperienze personali divengono emblematiche dello spirito del tempo.

Poco prima del concerto di Building Transmission, Tabula Rasa ospiterà un altro evento che coinvolge Nico Dockx: Floating Territories: Book Presentation, alle 18. Una presentazione sotto forma di dialogo informale, di un libro edito dallo stesso Nico Dockx, in collaborazione con Germana Jaulin e Chiara Parisi, basato su “un giornale di bordo” che raccoglie le conversazioni tra Nico Dockx, Yona Friedman, Helena Sidiropoulos e Jochem Vanden Ecker, sul progetto Floating Territories. Yona Friedman, uno dei più noti architetti al mondo, ha attraversato la II Guerra Mondiale sfuggendo ai rastrellamenti nazisti ed è vissuto per circa un decennio in Israele ad Haifa, per poi stabilirsi definitivamente a Parigi nel 1957. With Espen Sommer Eide, Bergen
Espen Sommer Eide, artista, musicista e filosofo che vive a Bergen, ha sviluppato un metodo per la costruzione collettiva di strumenti improvvisati per la musica elettronica, usando dischi per grammofono, giradischi, pezzi di amplificatori, sub-woofers, ecc. Il processo di creare gli strumenti prosegue con la creazione della musica stessa. Nel corso di The Bolzano / Bozen Sessions, Sommer Eide costruisce gli strumenti per fare musica sopra e attorno al lungo tavolo insieme ad amici, amanti della musica acustica ed estimatori della musica elettronica provenienti dalla regione.

&lt;div&gt;BOLZANO – Il nuovo week-end di Tabula Rasa propone tre esperienze di respiro internazionale, che investono nuovi orizzonti sonori e letterari, nella cornice di The Rest of Now.
Si parte il pomeriggio di venerdi´12 con Building Instruments: The Bolzano / Bozen Sessions, un workshop con Espen Sommer Eide. L'artista, filosofo e musicista norvegese ha sviluppato un metodo per la costruzione collettiva di strumenti improvvisati per la musica elettronica, e intorno al lungo tavolo di Tabula Rasa alterera´ vecchi 33 giri provenienti dagli archivi di Radio Tandem e portati dai partecipanti. Il pubblico e´ invitato a contribuire attivamente alle varie fasi della costruzione di questi originalissimi dischi alterati, che verranno poi donati ai partecipanti, un residuo suonabile nei loro vecchi giradischi. L’evento culminera´in un mini concerto serale dove Espen si esibirà con questi strumenti nuovi ed unici, dando vita a musica sperimentale.&lt;/div&gt;

La musica elettronica di Espen Sommer Eide invade l’ex-Alumix.

Tabula Rasa, lo special project di Manifesta 7 dal ricchissimo programma di eventi, porta a Bolzano una ventata di novita´. Venerdi´12 settembre a partire dalle ore 16 il lungo tavolo ormai simbolo di Tabula Rasa ospita la genialita´del norvegese Espen Sommer Eide, un talentuoso sound artist e filosofo, meglio conosciuto con lo pseudonimo Phonophani, e come membro della band Alog. Eide ha ricevuto riconoscimenti prestigiosi in Scandinavia, ed e´stato in tour in giro per l’Europa e gli Stati Uniti. Ha inciso tre dischi da solista, un album omonimo (1998), Genetic Engineering (2001) e Oak or Rock (2004), mentre sono quattro i lavori con la sua band Alog: Red Shift Swing (1999), Duck-Rabbit (2001), Miniatures (2005) e Amateur (2007).
Dicono di lui: “Uno degli esempi di elettronica piu`aggraziati e eccitanti in giro, a conferma della sua importanza tra i musicisti piu´ seguiti nel panorama dell'elettronica Scandinava” (Milkfactory - UK) e “Un intrico di linee e un mix di linguaggi musicali: Techno, minimalismo, elettronica, post-rock. Originale, derivativa, spontanea e artificiale “ (Julian Cowley, The Wire Magazine, UK).
L’artista si esprime anche attraverso installazioni sonore in risposta alla specificita´del luogo dove si tengono le performance. Le sue sonorita´, descritte da The Wire come “il prodotto di un gruppo di persone colpite da amnesia e appena risvegliate da un sonnellino, in una stanza piena di vecchi strumenti, e che lentamente cercano di riprendere confidenza con tali strumenti e le loro possibili funzioni musicali” rappresentano la base concettuale dell’esperienza proposta per Tabula Rasa.

In Building Instruments: The Bolzano / Bozen Sessions, Espen Sommer Eide condurra´infatti un workshop per la costruzione collettiva di strumenti improvvisati per la musica elettronica, alterando vecchi 33 giri portati dai visitatori o, per chi non ne avesse, ce ne sono di offerti da Manifesta 7. Il pubblico e´ invitato a contribuire attivamente alle varie fasi della costruzione di questi originalissimi dischi alterati, poi donati ai partecipanti, un cimelio suonabile con il proprio giradischi. L’evento culminera´in un mini concerto serale dove Espen si esibirà con questi strumenti nuovi ed unici, dando vita a musica sperimentale. Decisamente un evento raro, da non perdere, per tutti gli amanti della musica sperimentale, per chi e´attratto da invenzioni bizzarre e da nuove sonorita´ lontane dal solito venerdi´sera di Bolzano.

BOLZANO – Continuano gli eventi di Tabula Rasa, special project di Manifesta 7 The Rest of Now, in collaborazione con artisti locali e internazionali.
Giovedì 11 settembre alle ore 18, il lungo tavolo progettato da Nikolaus Hirsch e Michel Müller ospita Come stabilizzare un tavolo traballante, o il Teorema di Bolzano. Tale teorema non deve però il suo nome alla città, bensì a un illustre matematico della Praga dell’Ottocento…
Analisi matematica e arte contemporanea rappresentano un binomio quantomeno insolito, che non poteva però mancare nel grande contenitore di Tabula Rasa, lieta di ospitare una singolare performance di analisi matematica ad opera di Andrea Caranti, Professore di Algebra presso il Dipartimento di Matematica dell’ Università degli Studi di Trento. &lt;/div&gt;

Caranti parte con una originale dimostrazione del Teorema di Bolzano, questa volta non ricorrendo alla canonica lavagna universitaria, ma scrivendone le equazioni lungo gli 11,50 metri del tavolo, e si continua illustrando la più curiosa delle applicazioni di questo teorema, un metodo infallibile per risolvere un problema che affligge i più: il tavolino traballante. Una dimostrazione pratica dell’applicazione aiuterà a spiegarne meglio le dinamiche.&lt;/div&gt;

Tabula Rasa in questo caso offrirà i propri spazi a un gruppo di giovani curatori italiani. I curatori si riuniranno a porte chiuse per discutere di tutte e quattro le mostre di Manifesta 7. Il dibattito ruoterà attorno ad alcuni fra i temi più interessanti per la disciplina curatoriale e i prossimi sviluppi della pratica espositiva: qual'è il ruolo delle grandi mostre a cadenza regolare nel sistema dell'arte contemporanea, sono esse ancora veicolo di innovazione o piuttosto sono ormai vincolate ai meccanismi del mercato? Quali sono le ragioni future di Manifesta, una fra le Biennali più sperimentali dell'ultimo ventennio, nel mondo globalizzato? E ancora, quali gli azzardi di Manifesta 7 meritevoli di attenzione? Quali gli elementi critici da sottolineare? Cosa non è piaciuto?
Maturata un’opinione complessiva, Tabula Rasa sarà aperta al pubblico dalle ore 15 per una recensione pubblica in cui le opinioni e le riflessioni saranno sintetizzate e verranno messe a confronto. Tabula Rasa è un progetto a cura di Denis Isaia presso l'Ex-Alumix di Bolzano, la discussione del Laboratorio di Interpretazione sarà moderata da Elvira Vannini, critica e curatrice indipendente di Bologna. Interverranno insieme a Denis Isaia e Elvira Vannini i giovani curatori Chiara Agnello, Katia Anguelova, Marco Baravalle, Eva Fabbris, Antonio Grulli, Caterina Iaquinta, Matteo Lucchetti, Cristina Natalicchio, Francesca Pagliuca, Paolo Plotegher, Angela Serino e Elisa Tosoni.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;

Tabula Rasa, Fortezza pero´piace a tutti

Manifesta7? “Troppo timida e sottotono!” – la definisce cosi´ - Cristina Natalicchio, curatrice della Galleria Civica di Trento, “ma non vogliamo parlare di fallimento. Manifesta atraversa un periodo di ripensamento trattandosi di una biennale militante, sperimentale e non normalizzante”. Antonio Grulli, curatore indipendente:”Dopo sette edizioni Manifesta e´diventata stanca. L’obiettivo era di farla nomade in territori cosiddetti sconosciuti, in terre che ospitano convivenze di confine”. Sono alcune delle riflessioni scaturite dall’incontro fra giovani curatori che si sono riuniti per discutere l’impatto di Manifesta7 in regione, ponendo il quesito:”Ha disatteso le nostre aspettative o centrato l’argomento?”. L’invito e´partito da “Tabula Rasa”, il progetto speciale affidato a Denis Isaia, assistente del progetto curatoriale di Bolzano, una delle quattro sedi della biennale europea d’arte contemporanea, ospitata nell’edificio ex-Alumix. Una disamina critica della manifestazione che non sta riscuotendo il successo di pubblico sperato. L’altro pomeriggio negli spazi espositivi i visitatori si contavano sulle dita di una mano, mentre il “laboratorio interpretativo”, moderato da Elvira Tannini, curatrice indipendente di Bologna, affrontava una discussione basata su diversi quesiti, tutti mirati a capire cosa e´piaciuto e cosa non e´stato capito in Manifesta7. Interrogativi quali:”Il carattere nomade e la sua esistenza itinerante permettono a Manifesta di rinnovarsi e reinventarsi ad ogni edizione?”.”Ha bisogno di una revisione?” –oppure- “L’edizione 2008 ha assolto il compito di creare una piattaforma di lavoro e un laboratorio per tradurre le complesse geografie in mutamento? Deve/puo´avere ambizioni geopolitiche? Cosa si aspettano e cosa pensano i visitatori? Cosa ha determinato il flop del pubblico?” Quesiti suddivisi per gruppi distinti e discussi (in una prima fase) a porte chiuse. Analizzate le criticita´e concordate le risultanti, si e´potuto assistere ad un dibattito, anche se in qualche modo autoreferenziale. La sensazione e´stata quella di ascoltare commenti improntati ad esaminare tutte le componenti strutturali e concettuali di Manifesta, riservandosi la possibilita´di criticare anche cio´che e´stato visionato di persona. “Fortezza e´un luogo dove l’auspicata collaborazione sperimentale, si e´potuta verificare. L’edificio contenitore e´molto forte. La scelta di ospitare Manifesta in Trentino Alto Adige si e´avvalsa della disponibilita´di sedi, ricche di storie, il contributo geo-politico di Rovereto, Trento e Bolzano, la trans-culturalita´, ma anche due uffici organizzativi diversi (le due province, ndr) separati e partiti con tempi differenti. Sono tutti aspetti implosi. Dopo cipro c’e´stato un ripiegamento dell’arte verso le mostre”. La scorsa edizione e´stata annullata a tre mesi dall’inaugurazione per motivi politici. Una realta´lontana dalla nostra, ma il filo che la lega all’edizione in corso fino al 2 novembre, e´rappresentato dal tema discusso, quello del legame del territorio. Marco Baravalle, dei Magazzini del Sale di Venezia non ha avuto dubbi: “Sono scettico, pensando che le biennali possano dialogare, catalizzare il territorio che le ospita”. Antonio Grulli ha espresso il suo giudizio sulle mostre visitate: “Rovereto ha impostazione curatoriale poco interessante. Bolzano non mi piace, la trovo anch’essa meno interessante di altre sedi, le opere esposte tra loro non funzionano qui dentro (ex Alumix, ndr), anche se singolarmente hanno un loro valore. Non getto via tutto pero´”. Caterina Iaquinta dell’Universita´la Sapienza di Roma ha denunciato anche “la non piena collaborazione tra i quattro gruppi di curatori”. Chiara Agnello si e´chiesta anche se “le grandi biennali riescono a fare ancora ricerca in modo innovativo e quali sono i luoghi delle grandi mostre –citando Fortezza – il sito piu´aperto al confronto”. La sede del Palazzo delle Poste a Trento viene giudicata “impeccabile – da Elvira Tannini- quasi uno spazio mussale, ma e´un cliche´? Una metodologia che non azzarda piu´? Un segnale critico e´stato anche quello di chiedersi come mai Manifesta non abbia raggiunto le altre regioni. Ma Manifesta deve avere un ruolo locale o globale? Non ha dubbi Grulli:”La presa locale deve essere seria, ma bisogna saper guardare oltre” Elisa Tosoni assistente curatrice di Tabula Rasa, infine, si e´chiesta quali siano le relazioni tra Trento e Bolzano. “Prima di analizzare Manifesta, vanno analizzate le relazioni, e questo era il compito di Manifesta: i rapporti con le istituzioni, il pubblico e la crescita del consenso. Tutte ambizioni molto alte”. Ambizioni discusse a lungo.

L’artista, scegliendo casualmente i suoi interlocutori, sviluppa la discussione senza avere in mente un soggetto predefinito, tendendo invece a concentrarsi sulle attività dell’individuo, spesso investendone la sfera personale. Attraverso questo contatto diretto con il pubblico dell’ex-Alumix, in un dialogo personale carico di spontaneità e sincerità in cui veste i panni di ascoltatrice, Milena Kosec esplora la dimensione delle relazioni interpersonali e della casualità. Altri aspetti caratterizzanti delle sue performance sono l’immaterialità, l’unicità di un momento, e l’irrepetibilità: senza note o documentazione, le uniche tracce lasciate da queste conversazioni rimangono infatti solamente impresse nella sfera delle memorie personali. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

This practice could be considered a form of “para-design,” or “after-architecture.” In &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;Informal Tabula Rasa&lt;/i&gt;, Tibaldi invites the people working in the ex-Alumix factory during the exhibition – guards, ushers, guides and ticket staff – to build a construction parallel to the long table in Room 124, using unwanted objects and materials from their homes. This construction is then rendered as a drawing, as a collective exercise in “after-architecture”. The experience of walking along the table will be like listening to the turning dial of a giant radio. Schnapp proposes an analysis of the political and cultural resonances of Aluminium, once considered the miracle metal of modern &lt;st1:country-region st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Italy&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:country-region&gt;. In consequence, the single, most interesting tendency in cinema today - and the only one that holds a future - is piracy: the digital reproduction and redistribution of the entire history of cinema. It is organised spontaneously and on a world-wide level. How does it engage with the territory and dialogue with the citizens of &lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;Bolzano&lt;/st1:place&gt;&lt;/st1:city&gt; / Bozen and the region?&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;Tabula Rasa, a special project of Manifesta 7, part of the exhibition &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;The Rest of Now&lt;/i&gt;, is a series of events unfolding over 111 days in the frame of the ex- Alumix industrial building. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;A long white table – &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;tabula rasa &lt;/i&gt;– especially designed by Nikolaus Hirsch and Michel Müller and produced by local artisans – serves as a container of events. Exhibitions and table-top performances will alternate with sound installations, theatre, film screenings, workshops, panel discussions, talks, book presentations, gardening, and the occasional banquet, in a continuous flux of ephemeral events, disappearing one after the other, leaving behind nothing but a trace impressed in the memory of the participants.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;Tabula Rasa represents an element of continuous evolution and change within the exhibition, It also offers a platform for self-reflection, criticism and debate on the concepts raised by &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;The Rest of Now&lt;/i&gt;. The project will host symposia, workshops, exhibitions and book presentations featuring&lt;span style="mso-spacerun:yes"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;critics, theorists, writers and young curators. These events will be open to the public. They are designed to be occasions for reflecting together on &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;The Rest of Now&lt;/i&gt;, as well as on the current contemporary art scene in Italy and internationally. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;Tabula Rasa will give a voice not only to established art professionals, but also to cultural producers in the wider sense, reflecting the complexity of the contemporary art discourse, to include theatre, experimental music, comics, poetry, radio, socio-political debates. Tabula Rasa thus becomes a space where diverse modes of aggregation and confrontation can debate, share, observe and create collectively.&lt;span style="color:red;"&gt; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;Tabula Rasa serves, in fact, as a strong link between &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style:normal"&gt;The Rest of Now&lt;/i&gt; and the locality: thanks to its democratic free access, and characterized by longer opening hours, it aims to offer a meeting space for new interactions and conversations, not only for the residents of Bolzano / Bozen, but also to visitors from the region, and beyond. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;A large percentage of the events establish a dialogue with Alumix and the city, by involving the exhibition visitors as well as all members of staff, or by triggering a debate on the future of the building, providing an analysis of its history and function. Also featured are studies of the history of aluminium production that profoundly changed the cultural identity of Bolzano and an archive of visual memories of industrial buildings. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;&lt;o:p&gt; &lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"&gt;&lt;span style=" mso-ansi-language:EN-US;font-family:Arial;font-size:10.0pt;"&gt;This dialogue with the locality is key to Manifesta 7: a number of people from &lt;st1:place st="on"&gt;&lt;st1:city st="on"&gt;Bolzano&lt;/st1:city&gt;&lt;/st1:place&gt; or the region have been invited to host events, or to actively participate. Radio Tandem, a popular local radio station is a media partner of Tabula Rasa.
